Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
In short: NEWTZ only collects what it needs to run your gym logbook. Your data is hosted in Europe, is never sold and is never used for advertising. You can export it or delete your account at any time in the app (Profile > My data).
1. Who is responsible for your data?
The NEWTZ app is published by Kévin Beltran, an independent developer (see the legal notice). For any question about your data: support@newtz.app.
2. The data we collect
Your account
- Your email address, so you can sign in with a one-time code (there is no password).
Your profile
- First name, sex, age, height, weight, goal (bulk, cut, recomp), number of workouts per week, and calorie and macro targets.
Your activity in the app
- Workouts: exercises, sets, weights, reps, dates and durations.
- Nutrition: foods added to your log, amounts and meals.
- Supplements: your supplement list and the doses you check off.
Community features
- Your friend code, friend requests and connections, your duels, and the volume you lifted, which your buddies see in the ranking.
What stays on your phone
- Your preferences (language, rest time) and a local copy of your data so the app works offline.
- The camera is only used to read barcodes: no photo is stored or sent.
- Story cards are created on your phone and are not sent anywhere unless you choose to share them.
- Rest-timer notifications are scheduled on your phone.
What we don't collect
- No location, no contacts, no advertising trackers, no selling of data.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Create your account and sign you in | Performance of the contract (the terms of use) | |
| Calculate your targets and track your progress | Profile, workouts, nutrition, supplements | Your explicit consent, asked at sign-up, because weight and diet can reveal information about your health |
| Sync your data across your devices | All your account data | Performance of the contract |
| Buddy features (ranking, duels) | First name, friend code, volume, duels | Performance of the contract, only if you add buddies |
| Keep the service secure and working | Technical connection data | Legitimate interest |
You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account.
4. What your buddies see
Your buddies only see your first name, your friend code, the volume you lifted this month and your duel scores. They never see your weight, your measurements, your meals or the details of your workouts.
5. Who processes your data for us
| Provider | Role | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and sign-in | European Union (Amazon Web Services infrastructure, Paris region) |
| Resend | Sending the emails with your sign-in code | United States, covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework |
| Cloudflare | Hosting of the newtz.app website | Global network |
| Open Food Facts | Food database | France. The app only sends the text you search for or the barcode you scan, never your identity. |
| Apple and Google | App distribution and notifications | Under their own privacy policies |
If we add other services, for example for Premium subscriptions or crash reporting, this page will be updated before they go live.
6. How long we keep your data
- As long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account, all your data is immediately erased from our database. It may remain for a few days in our host's technical backups before being removed automatically.
- An account that has been inactive for 3 years is deleted, after a warning email.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete and retrieve your data (portability), to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw your consent.
- Export your data: Profile > My data > Export my data.
- Delete your account: Profile > My data > Delete my account.
- Correct your profile: directly in the Profile screen.
- For anything else: support@newtz.app. We reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or with the authority in your country.
8. Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Each user can only access their own data, thanks to security rules enforced directly in the database. You sign in with a code sent by email, so there is no password to steal.
9. Minimum age
NEWTZ is for people aged 16 and over. If you are under 16, please don't use the app.
10. Changes
We may update this policy, for example when a new feature arrives. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. If something important changes, we'll let you know in the app.
